It’s that time of year again – - SALE time!! With this crazy weather it’s hard to believe that I’m trying to start wrapping up the season, but it IS June! Starting Wednesday I will be offering all annuals, perennials, veggies and herbs at 40% off. On top of that, all trees and shrubs will now be 30% off. I still have a decent selection left so hurry in while you can. But once it’s gone, it’s gone!

OPEN!!!

The greenhouse is officially open for the season … well sort of. All I’m missing is customers! This definitely isn’t the weather we had last year. I sure am ready to see the sun again!

I am inviting everyone to come and hopefully get your spring fix for a while. Come visit me and DON’T buy anything. It’s just too cold for the plants yet. Although some things are growing very slowing in the greenhouse due to the weather, I still have plenty of blooms inside. Come out and I will help you plan what you’d like to do this year in your yard/garden. If you have time, dig out your old planters and bring them in. I can get them all planted for you and they will be beautiful by the time the weather warms up. Might as well get a head start on summer!

I have a ton of new things for you to check out this year! I have trees and shrubs for sale this year. I have also expanded the shop area to include vegetable seeds, onions, potatoes, garden supplies, and decor. Oh, and check out my new sign in Holland at the corner!

Spring is here! … or is it?

What a beautiful spring day today! The geese have come back and the robins have arrived. Yes, it is definitely spring … at least until it snows again. I’ve been extremely busy in the greenhouse and the shop area. The plants are coming right along, and I’m excited to be offering quite a few new varieties. I have lots more perennials and shade plants. There will be quite a few vegetables to choose from when it’s warm enough to plant. I’ve been busy putting together more hanging baskets and planters. But the best part of all are the new things being added! I will have a selection of trees and shrubs this year. I will also be offering vegetable seeds along with onions and potatoes. On top of that the shop area is being expanded to include supplies such as potting soil, fertilizers, decorations, etc. It’s going to be a great year and I hope you can stop by to check it out!

By the way, due to the weather I will be pushing back my opening day to April 17th.

I have taken a VERY long break from the greenhouse. Now is that time of year where I start getting back into the swing of things. I wanted to give you an update of what is happening this time of year. I have ordered all my “babies” (seedlings) for arrival in early March. I am starting more plants from seed this year and they started arriving this past week. Some of those will be planted in the next few days! I have quite a few new types of plants this year. (I’m still trying to figure out where I’m going to put everything!!) There will be many more perennials and also more shade-loving plants.

The shop area is a disaster. I have accumulated some goodies to sell this spring but right now everything is piled on top of each other. I have also been working on staining cedar shingles to go outside on the front part of the shop. They are all done, just waiting for the hubbie to put them up. I’m hoping they will be up before I open!

On another note, I had two beautiful signs made. Last year I know a few people had some problems finding our place, but this year that shouldn’t be the case. These signs will be hard to miss! But again, another project for the hubbie.

It was a great season, but things are definately slowing down! I am no longer keeping regular business hours, but I am still selling plants. If you’re interested in stopping out, your best bet would be to call first to make sure I’m there. Or you can just try your luck — I might be around! Just in case, my cell # is 319-231-3443.

I want to let everyone know that the greenhouse is starting to wind down for the summer. The selection is getting slimmer, so you know what that means — everything is on SALE!!! Yes, all plants are at least 30% off from now until I close for the year. I still have tons of petunias along with impatiens, coleus, million bells, and lots of other varieties. If you have an open spot you’re looking to fill, stop on by and pick something out. Just a reminder, my hours are Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 9 – 5 and Thursday 10 – 7.

The greenhouse is bursting at the seams! There is more work to be done than time in the day. I have a few new pictures and will post them soon. We’ve been busy finishing up hanging baskets and pots. Make sure you take a look at them! I know the weather is a little too cool to put any plants outside, but stop by Saturday to check things out. We will also have a few goodies to sample — my kids are very excited to have their lemonade and cupcake stand set up!
